Volunteer with MOSAIC English Language Programs

Language is the key that opens many doors!

Learning English is a vital element to settlement. As a volunteer in the MOSAIC English Language Programs, you will play a direct role in the language development of newcomers. Whether as a teaching assistant, conversation leader or tutor, you will give the extra attention that can make all the difference.

MOSAIC has three Language Centres in the Lower Mainland offering English Classes from pre-literacy to intermediate levels. As well as teaching English for everyday life and for work, we also introduce students to Canadian culture and community resources. Our classrooms are safe and encouraging places for students to learn, make friends and improve their English!

This what one of our volunteers says about his experience with us:

"I have thoroughly enjoyed being in Jason's class. He is an awesome teacher and I have learned so much from him. He has been completely generous with having me in his class and letting me help out with his students.

It is an incredible opportunity to grow, by volunteering at MOSAIC. Working alongside newcomers is an enriching experience. My empathy, for what new immigrants in my community experience, has grown. For that I am very grateful to MOSAIC."
