Volunteer Appreciation

During National Volunteer Week in 2009, we hosted a special evening to celebrate the generous spirits of our volunteers. The theme of the evening was “a world of thanks” and it was the first time that we had honoured our volunteers in such an elaborate fashion.

We invited all of our volunteers to a delicious, four-course meal at a local Portuguese restaurant called Senhor Rooster. The restaurant’s owner used MOSAIC’s services when he first arrived in Vancouver so we felt very welcome there. 65 volunteers attended along with staff who work with them, our Executive Director and the President of our Board.

There were newcomer nominated awards, story-telling, speeches acknowledging the impact that our volunteers have in the community and a whole lot of merriment.

Thank you to all of our volunteers who generously donated their time and talent to us over the past year to make a difference in the community. And thank you to all those who attended the event. We look forward to working with you over the upcoming year.
